On February 23(Fri) 12PM, the “2017 Education Donations Achievement Conference of University Student” hosted by the Ministry of Education (MOE, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister, Kim Sang-kon) and organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity (KOFAC, Acting President of KOFAC, Kang Ho-young) was successfully held at Gayageum Hall, THE-K Hotel, Seoul.
In this Achievement Conference, we share the awards ceremony for the winners of the excellent programs of ‘Donation for Education of University Students’ programs and the best practices and achievements of the ‘Donation for Education of University Students’ dedicated to revitalizing donation for education. In 2012, 506 clubs participated that operated various after-school programs for about 12,000 students at 498 elementary, middle schools from the ‘Donation for Education of University Students’, which started with 377 university students nationwide. Since 2015, ‘University Students Voluntary Service Group of Care Class’ has been 199 university students clubs participated in caring for elementary school students in 197 schools until 2017, in connection with national agenda of the day care system.
The ‘Donation for Education of University Students’ develops a variety of experiential programs that take advantage of the characteristics of the clubs, linking elementary, middle schools and the university students clubs on a one-to one basis(weekdays, weekend), and providing after school programs for elementary, middle school students for free of charge during the semester. During semester, Saturday programs: *Hamsungsori and weekly after-school program **Alrock-Dalrock and Happy Classroom. During the vacation: the creative Experience Activity *** Ssok-ssok Camp.* University students and teenagers precious story (8 times, more than 30hrs) ** Enjoy to Know (Enjoyment), Enjoy to Achieve (Enjoyment) (10 times, more than 40hrs) *** Ssok-ssok: Story of Camp, Story of Creativity (during vacation 2nights 3days, creative experience camp)
In additional, the ‘University Students Voluntary Service Group of Elementary Care Class’ supported after-school care class that centered on experience programs(Self-directed Activities, Peer Culture Construction etc.) * Developed a variate experience programs that take advantage of the characteristics of the clubs, linking elementary, middle schools and the university students clubs on a one-to one (8~10 times, more than 30~40hrs, during semester and vacation). In this achievement conference, participated by about 200 representatives of university student clubs in order to encourage university students to participate in education donations. In the meantime, It has had an opportunity to share achievement while continuing videos and congratulatory performance, presentation of best program, outstanding club awards and special lectures.
The Ministry of Education(MOE) and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity(KOFAC) utilizing the unique and creative donation for education program of university student clubs so that after school program will become more diverse and enriched and will continue to support the continuing donation for education of university students,
